How can I support Art at home?

How can I support Art at home?

  • Encourage your child to discuss what they have explored in their art or photography lessons.
Revisit and practice the techniques covered in class at home as well as independently research other similar artists for inspiration.
  • Visit art galleries and discuss art with your child; this is a good way to develop their knowledge and appreciation, cultural awareness and creativity.
  • View and discuss your child’s work, particularly at KS4, as photography students have access to their online portfolio and art students take their sketchbooks home.
  • Support and encourage students to attend after school sessions during year 10 and 11, this will help to develop their work further.
