How to Apply

For both current year 11 and external students, candidates must have:

• A Level: A minimum of five passes at grade 5 or higher at GCSE, within these passes, there must be a grade 5 or higher in English Language or Literature and Maths.

• BTEC National Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development: 5 or more GCSE grades of 9 – 4, including English Language or Literature or Maths. (Students can resit Maths or English, if necessary).

Applications

Applications are online and should be submitted by 31st December by filling in an application form. Once you have completed and sent your application form and we have processed your application, you will receive an email with a conditional offer.

We will accept applications after 31st December. In January we will confirm the blocking of subjects and our final curriculum offer based on all applications received before 31st December. If you want our timetable to accommodate your choices of A Level subjects, please make sure you apply before 31st December.

2. Decide on your preferred pathway of study:

3. Complete the Application Form below - Please use email addresses that both you and your parents access regularly

4. Please keep in touch and attend our taster sessions. Click here to see what tasters are currently on offer, new sessions will be added all the time so keep checking back to see if the subjects you are interested in have become available. You can attend as many sessions as you like.

If you change your mind about the courses you wish to study, or there are other factors that mean your circumstances have changed, please us the following email to let us know: admissions@sigmasixthcolchester.org.uk

5. Please ensure you apply before the end of December. We will accept applications after this date, however, your chosen combination of subjects may not be available. If you would like a tour of the Sixth Form, or you would like to request an interview to talk over your choices with the Head of Sixth Form please email admissions@sigmasixthcolchester.org.uk

Don't fill in another form because this will potentially cause confusion and delay.

6. Following your application a conditional offer will be sent to you via email, confirming your place with us in September, dependent on your GCSE results.

Initial enrolment will take place during taster sessions in the summer term, and final enrolment on GCSE results day.

Enrolment forms are sent via email and you can complete your enrolment either electronically or in person.
