Year 10 and 11 Careers Fair

On Wednesday 8th October we held special sessions for our Year 10 and 11 students to help them to prepare for the Careers Fair. This was as a direct result of feedback from students in previous years that they did not feel prepared for the event. In these sessions students were supported by the organisation "Make Happen" who answered questions on the difference between apprenticeships and BTECs and helped students to consider their post-16 and post-18 options ready for the careers fair on Friday 17th October. Make Happen are based at university campuses in Colchester, Chelmsford and Southend and work with schools to offer activities, advice and information on higher education and support students' exploration of the world of work and career progression.

At the careers fair on Friday 17th October there was fantastic participation from employers and education providers who enabled our students to have engaging conversations about their next steps.
