Remembrance Day in school
On Tuesday 11th November our community remembered all who serve and all those who have lost their lives to bring us peace. Our students in uniformed organisations, our service children and friends and our Sigma Sixth students took part in a remembrance event in our main hall led by their fellow students. Across the school over 2000 students and staff showed their respect by observing the two minutes silence.

Victoria read her poem which was published in the "Lest We Forget" Young Writers collection.
The event was also a demonstration of the exceptional leadership of two Year 11 students from the Air Cadets. A few weeks ago Stefan asked how he could get involved to encourage more students to wear their organisation uniforms. He devised a list of rewards, ways to tackle practical issues and pre-meetings with students the day before so that they felt more confident to attend in their uniform. As a result we had 50 students in uniform at our Remembrance event in the hall. As well as being involved prior to Remembrance Day Stefan was joined by Darnell on Tuesday to organise students and ensure orderly arrangement for laying their poppies in addition they were the first to respond to a first aid situation putting all their training into action.
